Silk charmeuse from Paris

This scrumptious silk charmeuse was a find on a Paris vacation. Jeanne and Jane are discussing how she will design a garment with this fabric.

katherine's family quilt

Katherine has her family portrait quilt all pinned and ready for the final quilting. She began assembling this project just a few months ago with Jane on her Sewing Retreat. A wonderful memory of her mother as a baby and three more generations of grandmothers.

Leather jacket

A great leather jacket is being constructed using a Marfy pattern.

Barbara shows her lava lamp quilt

Barbara started collecting the fabric for this lava lamp quilt at Back Porch Fabrics while attending the Spring 2010 Sewing Retreat with Jane. Jane had encouraged her to select a fairly dark value for one row, and a light value for the other row. You can see how this really worked.

Barbara pieced it and worked on the binding during the Spring 2011 Sewing Retreat. Now it is completed and ready to give her daughter for graduation, and will cheer up her room for her first year at college.

Janice's jacket

Janice made this short version of a coat designed by Sandra Betzina, Vogue pattern 1212.  She used a sweatshirt fabric.

Fran's new coat

Fran found her black wool Melton in Jane’s “freebie” corner and made this tailored and lined wool coat.

Maria has finished her jacket.  The buttons and button hole loops were the last step.  Jane showed Maria how to sew on the buttons so that the threads were neatly done on the lining side.

Vest

Claire started this holiday vest while she attended Jane's Asilomar Sewing Retreat in Pacific Grove. She found just the perfect button at Findings in Carmel.  Notice the perfect fit of this garment.  The vest is ready for Claire to wear for the Holidays.

Barbar's vest

Barbara couldn't wait to get this completed once she had started!  It is absolutely gorgeous, and suits her in every way.

Back of Barbs vest

Some of the fabric pieces were from Kasuri Dyeworks when they were located in Berkeley, CA.  The pattern is My Fuji Jacket from Brensan Studios.  Barbara's jacket could certainly join Brensan Studio's gallery page.  The pattern calls for 5 fabrics, or about 3+ yards.  Barbara chose to use more fabrics.

Betty's tee shirt

Piedmont Fabrics in Oakland had this tee shirt fabric that was the perfect color to match Betty's eyes.

JoAnn's denim jacket

JoAnn F. has sewn a versatile denim jacket and skirt.  The denim has a slight surface design and also some stretch. A timeless duo for JoAnn.
