The format of the Auburn, and San Juan Bautista retreats is similar to Janes sew labs, where each person works on her own projects and schedule. There will be a Show and Tell, and the level of sewing is as intense or as relaxed as you choose. Jane will interact with students for a minimum of 6 hours a day on their projects.

Jane is an excellent sewing instructor with years of experience. She has exceptional talent in the designing and fitting of garments. She emphasizes color choices and garment lines that compliment each person. The class size is usually limited. Some students are early risers and sew on their own before breakfast. After breakfast Jane helps students with their projects for 3 hours, and then everyone breaks for lunch. After lunch there will be free time to sew or go on an outing. At 4:00 PM Jane again helps individual students until dinner, and then again after dinner. So each student has ample individual attention throughout the entire sewing retreat.

Spending time with Jane at the retreat is both stimulating and relaxing. Jane continues to challenge our perceptions, stretch our design aesthetics, and encourages us to explore or invent new techniques.
It goes without saying that Jane is a very special sewing and design instructor. Having her help you with your sewing for several days is an unbelievable treat, and I feel very fortunate to be able to attend. I feel I accomplish a lot that I couldn't have done on my own, and at the same time have gained skills that will help me on future projects. Besides the positive sewing experience, I love being with the fun group of women attending these retreats. And the group synergy is inspiring.
