Students Model Garments for Show & Tella

Garments Sewn in Jane Foster's Design Studio Classes

Jackie had Jane help her with some of the choices for her new sewing studio. It turned out wonderful, and is a very pleasant working space.

She is wearing a silk dupioni top made using a Vogue pattern.

Maria made a Sandra Betzina top and Loes Hinse skirt. Both were constructed with comfortable knits.

Simone designed and made this sweatshirt from scratch.

She added a hood and a method to keep her hands warm. It was made to wear on trip to England with her dad - her first time there.

Jackie F in boiled wood jacket using a Sewing Workshop pattern.

Notice the cut away designs with reverse applique. The skirt is a lined wrap that picks up the zig-zag designs on the coat.

Barbara shows the lining of her coat which she made from a sarong.

Quilt by Jackie L. It is hanging in her new sewing studio which was modeled after Jane's studio. It is now complete...yeah!!!

Ruth C. bought this printed panel of the USA. She added backing and lining and quilted around each state.

Then she added lots of little buttons appropriate for each state. The quilt is for her grandchild.

Fun to look at and discover all the buttons.

We are proud of Simone. She is just learning to sew, and this is her first skirt. Very cute. Congratulations.

Jennifer is great at designing dresses, and here is her latest garment.

Ellen skating her program in costume made by her mom and designed by Jane.

Clare makes a gorgeous evening gown for her daughter.

Hannah gets her gown for the senior ball fitted.

Exquisite trim is pinned to Hannah's prom dress.

Claire in needlecord shrug.

Claire made her shrug from some "freebee" fabric.

A community quilt in progress..Vicki E invited parents at her daughter's school to contribute a block.

The theme was "Changes", and the quilt was raffled as a fund raiser.

Sarah B takes a studio break.

Katherine Welcomer made this raincoat with fabric from Stone Mountain and Daughter.

It was a challenge because we couldn't put an iron too near it! Katherine has had a lot of wear from it this season!

Dobey Peacock made her gorgeous cashmere coat from a Vogue pattern. The collar and band trim is mohair.

The coat is lined with silk charmeuse and features a neck ruffle and an embroidered hem.

Jane's new top is made with fabric from Casual Elegance, and Vogue pattern 7828.

This jacket was made by Debra Murphy, a CA artist. She collaged different colored and textures of silk, and stitched it on a base in a grid pattern.

After the top and lining were stitched together, she put it all in a rust colored dye bath so all the colors would go together.
